Rare AMI WQ-200 Wallbox with SFE Wallbox Stereo Speaker & Original

Rare AMI WQ-200 200-Selection Wallbox with Original SFE Wallbox Stereo Speaker and Mounting Bracket, USA, 1960s An uncommon and highly desirable complete AMI wallbox combination, consisting of an AMI WQ-200 200-selection wallbox together with the scarce AMI SFE Wallbox Stereo Speaker, mounted above the wallbox on its original metal mounting bracket. The SFE was introduced as an accessory for AMI's WQ-series wallboxes and allowed patrons to listen to the jukebox music directly at their table or booth, creating a personal stereo listening station. The illuminated speaker unit is appropriately marked "PERSONAL STEREO FOR YOUR LISTENING ENJOYMENT" and incorporates left and right speaker sections with individual Volume and Balance controls. AMI documentation identifies the SFE as the Wallbox Stereo Speaker, dating from approximately 1964–1966. Jukebox History The WQ-200 itself offered 200 selections and was used with a wide range of AMI 200-selection jukeboxes. The model was produced from approximately 1956–1965. Jukebox History This example retains its attractive chrome housing, red and cream selection buttons, rotating title-page assembly, coin mechanism, lock and keys. The SFE speaker retains its display featuring period record artwork and its original mounting assembly. The speaker can also be removed from the bracket, as shown in the photographs. Wallbox identification plate: Model: WQ-200, Serial No: 157424, 200 selections A particularly attractive and seldom-seen AMI accessory combination. While WQ-200 wallboxes are encountered individually, finding one together with the SFE stereo speaker and its mounting hardware is considerably more difficult and makes this a desirable set for the serious AMI, jukebox and coin-op collector. Condition: Very good original visual condition with age-related wear, marks, oxidation and surface wear, particularly to the rear and mounting hardware. Please refer to the photographs for details. For jukebox models: G200, H200, I200, J200, K200, Continental, Continental 2/200. Comes with the keys. Dimensions (H x W x D): 40 x 32 x 20 cm. Weight: 14.70 kg. Condition: Very Good.
