Raak Amsterdam - Hanging lamp - Mid-Century Hand-Blown - Glass - 1960s

RAAK Amsterdam Mid-Century Hand-Blown Smoked Grey Glass Pendant Lamp – ca. 1960s - In excellent condition – No reserve A beautiful and highly decorative RAAK Amsterdam pendant lamp, featuring a large, organically shaped hand-blown smoked grey glass shade with an elegant rounded form and distinctive spherical glass finial underneath. The beautifully sculptural shape, transparent smoked-grey glass and brass-coloured fitting create a particularly atmospheric Mid-Century Modern appearance. When illuminated, the glass produces a warm, subtle glow while revealing the elegant construction of the shade. The hand-blown glass displays small natural variations and air bubbles, characteristic of vintage blown-glass production. These details give the lamp an authentic character and make each shade slightly unique. Comparable RAAK lighting from the 1960s is documented with hand-blown glass and Mid-Century Modern styling. RAAK Amsterdam was one of the Netherlands' best-known lighting manufacturers of the Mid-Century period, particularly renowned for its experimental use of glass, sculptural forms and refined materials. RAAK lamps from the 1960s remain highly sought after by collectors of Dutch design. A striking original RAAK piece for a Mid-Century, modernist or vintage interior — a substantial high-end quality design lamp and a real eye-catcher.
