Pink Floyd - Obscured By Clouds / Original 1972 1st...

Every Floyd-fan has (at least one copy of) Dark Side. And of Meddle. But not many know there was an album in between those two. Here is your chance to own it. And not just that, but a very first pressing, from France. The sleeve does show it is from 1972. It’s old. But the vinyl is remarkably immaculate, I dare call it mint. And it is a real first pressing. Check the black EMI-logo on the top left. Other pressings had blue one, or none. And it has rounded corners, which were not used in others. So this, my friends is a gem. It is not an ordinary album-album, but the soundtrack to La Vallee, directed by Barbet Schroeder. The lads had worked with him on the movie More. And soince this one was about people on a spiritual quest in New Guinea, it was obvious that Floyd was to provide the music. Funny thing: they started making soundscapes, as film needed moody music instead of songs. But it all turned out in songform. Notable was the use of acoustic guitar. And rick Wright just bought a VCS3 synth, which he put to good use. The sleeve is, as all others, by Hipgnosis. It seems like a quicky, but he put a lot of thought in it. It is a photo of a guy picking an apple, but distorted beyond recognition. As said, the sleeve does not stand up to the mint vinyl. It has wear around the sides and there is a little tear in the opening. But is it very easy to repair with invisible tape if you want. I leave that up to you. I will provide new inner and outer protective sleeves. It will be preciously packed and swiftly send. Pink Floyd – Obscured by clouds. EMI/Harvest, C 064-05054, 1972, France. Sleeve worn, little tear (G), vinyl mint.
