Often considered "The Father of the Philippine Revolution", Andres Bonifacio is a co-founder of the "Kataastaasan, Kagalanggalang Katipunan ng mga Anak ng Bayan" commonly referred to as the "Katipunan". He would later reorganize the Katipunan into a Revolutionary Government with himself as President of the "Haring Bayang Kataglugan" (Sovereign Nation of the Tagalog People). In late 1896, he was recognized as the overall leader of the revolution. Due to several controversial events a spilt occurred in the government and Emilio Aguinaldo assumed command. Aguinaldo had the Bonifacio brothers arrested, tried, convicted and executed on 10 May 1897. His trial and execution by have been condemned as unjust by historians. He made a lasting impression on his beloved country and is a national hero. Estimate: $200 - $300. Provenance: From the Dr. Earl Honeycutt Collection.
