Perfect Cubic Pyrite on Matrix - Height: 10.7 cm - Width: 7 cm- 692 g

An exceptional museum specimen presenting a single crystal of pyrite with a perfect cubic habit ({100}), naturally and in situ mounted on its clear original matrix. The crystal stands out for its mirror-finished faces with a golden metallic luster, with sharp edges and clean vertices free of growth imperfections. The pronounced cubic symmetry of the crystal contrasts strongly with the earthy texture of the host rock, a hallmark of the unique low-temperature hydrothermal metasomatism of Navajún, worldwide renowned for producing the best pyrite crystals on the planet for systematic mineralogy.
