Pere Clapera i Argelaguer (1906 - 1984) - Dama Fauve

Title: Fauve Lady ㅤ School: Spanish School (20th century) ㅤ Author: Pere Clapera ㅤ Style: Fauvism / Expressionism ㅤ Technique: Pastel on paper ㅤ Condition: Good overall state of conservation, with signs typical of the age of the support and mounting. ㅤ Circle and artistic influence: The composition shows a clear assimilation of Fauvism and European Expressionism, especially visible in the antinaturalistic use of color and in the simplification of anatomy. The chromatic mask of the face, built with blues, greens and yellows, recalls early 20th-century investigations into autonomous color and expressive deformation. ㅤ Pere Clapera was an artist active during the 20th century whose work, judging by this composition, shows interest in modern figuration and in an expressive use of color. In this piece he deliberately abandons naturalism to construct the figure with marked contours and contrasted color planes. ㅤ The scene depicts a seated woman holding a child wrapped in light fabrics in her arms. The female figure, with frontal and monumental composition, stands out for an intensely stylized face colored with blue, green and ochre tones. The wide volumes of the dress and the geometric treatment of the shapes give the scene a strong plastic presence. ㅤ Wooden frame with a gold finish, combined with a wide beige-toned canvassed surface and a light inner molding. ㅤ Observations: The work may incur damage during transport even with proper packaging. In such a case, we will require photographs of the damages to proceed with compensation. Customer satisfaction is always our priority. ㅤ Exceptionally, shipping costs may be affected by a surcharge due to reasons such as being outside a continental territory, excessive dimensions or weight of the item. PremiArt will in no case cover this surcharge. ㅤ The courier that must pass through the Swiss border may be delayed much more than normal, so, if possible, to speed up the process, we will provide the customs number that is holding the shipment so that the customer can unlock it and thus have it reach its destination. Experience has taught us that this is the most effective solution for both parties. ㅤ Due to the high volume of shipments, the order may be delayed by more than three days, for which we apologize and thank you for your patience. Any questions about your order please contact us via internal messaging. ㅤ Measurements: 49 × 36 cm Measurements with frame: 64 × 51 cm
