Pablo Soroya - Sunlit Caustics – XL Size

Sunlit Caustics. Original oil painting 98 x 93 cm Sunlit Caustics is a monumental, expressive oil painting on canvas that captures a moment of intense atmosphere, warmth, and aquatic luminescence. Measuring an impressive 98 x 93 cm, this large-scale contemporary figurative work serves as a commanding statement piece for modern interiors and fine art collections. Artistic Highlights & Technique Bravura Brushwork & Texture: Painted with energetic, confident round-brush technique, the surface vibrates with textural micro-variations. Rather than relying on flat planes of color, the rhythmic impasto strokes create a living, breathing optical rhythm across the canvas. Mastery of Light & Caustics: The composition showcases dappled sunlight breaking through water, as well as reflecting into the shadows from below. It weaves intricate golden light over the subject's face, neck, and brow. The vibrant contrast between the warm, luminous flesh tones and the rich cerulean and azure blue background gives the painting extraordinary depth. Dynamic Foreshortening: The low-angle, tilted perspective creates a sense of immediate movement and emergence. The sculpted jawline, full lips, and expressive eyes anchor the complex anatomical structure beneath the fluidity of the water reflections.
