Opinel N.08 Mushroom Knife – Made in France – Curved 8 cm Stainless Steel Blade – Beech Wood Handle with Natural Brush – Virobloc Description Up for auction is an authentic Opinel N.08 for mushrooms, one of the most iconic and appreciated tools by mushroom foragers. Designed and made in France, this knife blends Opinel's artisanal tradition with functionality studied in every detail, becoming the ideal companion for forest excursions. The 8 cm curved stainless steel blade enables precise cutting of the mushroom stem while preserving the mycelium and facilitating an accurate harvest. On the back of the blade is a handy serration, perfect for gently scraping the stem and removing the most stubborn soil residues. The beech wood handle, French and lightweight, is finished with a special coating that effectively protects it from moisture and dirt. At the end of the handle sits a natural bristle brush, perfect for cleaning porcini, chanterelles, puffballs, false morels, common mushrooms, and trompettes de la mort directly during collection. Completing the knife is the famous Virobloc safety ring, invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, which allows the blade to be locked both in the open and closed positions, ensuring maximum safety during use and transport.
