Onbekend Wenen Vienna Austria - Onbekend - Sculpture

Charmante antique miniature group featuring four anthropomorphic cats around a round table, complete with chairs and small cups and saucers. The cats are humorously depicted as humans and together form a cozy tea-party scene. The group is presumably of Austrian/Vienna origin and produced in the tradition of the well-known Vienna Bronzes from the early 20th century. The figures and accessories are cold-painted and show signs of age and wear, including local paint loss. This patina suits the age of the object. One chair is missing two legs. There is no visible maker's mark found, making the creator not ascertainable with certainty. The depiction, in character, resembles the anthropomorphic cats from Beatrix Potter's world, but no official connection with Beatrix Potter or Tom Kitten has been established. The dimensions of the chairs with cats are approximately 5x2x2 cm. The dimensions of the table are approximately 4x5x5 cm. The total weight is approximately 216 grams. Please examine the photos carefully; they are part of the description.
