This black-and-white photograph of Andy Warhol with a Polaroid was taken by Oliviero Toscani in 1975. The image portrays Warhol both as photographer and subject, while he holds in his hand an instant camera from which his self-portrait emerges. The photo has an immediate and genuine style, without retouching, and it has become famous also as a testimonial image for the Polaroid brand. Toscani has been able to capture the charismatic and authentic side of Warhol, marking also the beginning of a long friendship between the two.
