Vintage sterling silver cufflinks from the Danish silversmith Hans Hansen, known for its clean and sculptural Scandinavian designs. The front consists of a square silver plate with a sober brushed surface. In the center is a round, domed element with a dark patinated finish. The contrast between the light silver, the simple geometric shape, and the dark central part gives the cufflinks their pronounced modernist character. The backside is also carefully finished. The movable closures end in elongated oval elements with a subtly engraved geometric motif. Both cufflinks are clearly stamped with HH – 925S – DENMARK. In addition, the model number 646 is impressed. The cufflinks are in good used vintage condition. They show signs of wear and light scratches and normal signs of use. One of the curved connecting parts at the back is somewhat bent compared to the other piece. The cufflinks are otherwise complete and functional. The hallmark is still clearly legible. Hans Hansen belonged to the leading Danish silversmiths of the 20th century. The atelier was known for its high-quality modernist jewelry and worked with designers such as Karl Gustav Hansen and Bent Gabrielsen. In 1992 the company was incorporated into Georg Jensen.
