Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs No Reserve - Fine Vintage Hereke Silk and Metallic-Thread Rug, Turkey Size: 3 ft 7 in x 2 ft 7 in (1.09 m x 0.78 m) Provenance: Property of New York Collector A finely woven Hereke rug incorporating silk and metallic thread, materials historically associated with luxury and ceremonial textile production. The reflective metallic details enliven the surface as the light changes, while the compact scale invites close examination of the weaver’s technical control. Founded as an imperial manufacturing center during the Ottoman period, Hereke became synonymous with exceptionally fine workshop carpets. Later examples vary considerably in quality, making the structure, fineness, materials and signature especially important in assessing an individual piece. Condition Request Condition Report Lot #412 is in very good condition. The pile is full and even, with no visible signs of wear. Both ends are original, complete, and hand secured.
