Curated collection of antique, vintage and modern rugs No Reserve -Antique Persian Jijim and Tribal Bag Face - Circa 1900 Size: 5 ft x 1 ft 10 in (1.52 m x 0.55 m)+3 ft 6 in x 2 ft (1.06 m x 0.6 m) Provenance: Property of a California collector An engaging pairing of antique Persian tribal textiles consisting of a finely striped jijim and a boldly patterned bag face. The jijim displays rhythmic bands of color and intricate supplementary-weft decoration, while the bag face introduces stronger geometric forms and a more concentrated composition. Together, they illustrate two distinct aspects of Persian nomadic weaving: the broader decorative surface of the flatwoven jijim and the compact artistic intensity of a functional storage bag.
