Nightstand (2) - Wood - Venetian Style 1930s–1940s

A splendid pair of antique nightstands in Venetian/Fiorentino style, a classic example of Italian craftsmanship from the first half of the 20th century, characterized by an elegant and lively Rococo Revival design. The nightstands feature a crescent-shaped or trapezoidal silhouette, designed to fit perfectly into a corner or beside the bed. They are equipped with a convenient front drawer with a carved knob and a lower shelf that joins the legs, increasing the surface area. The four tall, sinuous saber-like legs, known as “cabriole,” give movement and the characteristic fluid elegance of furniture in the Louis XV style. The structure is crafted in carved wood, enriched with a lacquered, hand-painted finish, with the two levels (both upper and lower) displaying delicate lattice geometric motifs and floral decorations with central scrolls in sage green, ivory, and gold. The perimetral gilding bears a beautiful antique patina worn by time. These furnishings are ideal both as bedroom nightstands and as refined accent or coffee tables, perfect for eclectic interiors, classic but also in Hollywood Regency style. Unique pieces, highly sought-after and appreciated right now on the antique market, of great value because they come as a pair.
