NETHERLANDS INDIES. Javasche Bank. 20 Gulden, 26.1.1920. P-66a. PMG

ETHERLANDS INDIES. Javasche Bank. 20 Gulden, 26.1.1920. P-66a. PMG Very Fine 20. Rare type from the Javasche Bank. This 1919-21 series, with the bank building on the front, consisted of three odd denominations: 20 Gulden (offered in the present lot), 30 Gulden, and 40 Gulden, that don't really fit into any other banknote series of the bank. In issued format, these notes are rare, and not often encountered. This is a moderately circulated example of the 20 Gulden with a 1920 date and bright orange color. PMG Comments "Security Code Stamp at Issue, Minor Repairs."
