Netherlands 1935 - Flying Dove "Espionage Stamp" - NVPH 172s

Scarce mint Spy Stamp with original gum and perfin. Authenticity mark on gum side. With the usual couple of small original wood fibers in the paper, characteristic of this stamp. See the scans. "During the war years, on behalf of the British Ministry of War, Waterlow and Sons Ltd. in London produced a counterfeit of the 1½ cent grey for the British Intelligence Service. The stamp would have been used for spying purposes. This (official?) counterfeit is issued without a watermark and perforated 11. After the war, unused specimens appeared on the market" (NVPH 2026). Catalogue value € 750.00 (NVPH 2026) Registered shipping PLEASE NOTE: Due to the new PPWR regulation—which came into effect on August 12, 2026, and entails significant and far-reaching changes for businesses regarding shipments within the EU—I am suspending shipments to EU countries other than the Netherlands. Local pickup remains available at all times. I am still shipping to countries outside the EU for the time being. My apologies for the inconvenience.
