Naar Rene Paul Chambellan - Relief

The bas-relief named 'VISION' (vision) is designed in Art Deco style and based on the historical relief works of American sculptor Rene Paul Chambellan (1893–1955), originally created on commission for the Chanin Building in New York. CHANIN BUILDING The Chanin Building was erected in 1929 by Irwin Salmon Chanin (1891–1988). Chanin rose from humble beginnings as the son of an immigrant family to become a successful architect and developer. With the building bearing his name, he sought to express everything that New York City meant to him and can mean to anyone who chooses to seize opportunities and pursue success. In the building’s lobby, eight monumental reliefs were therefore installed above decorative bronze grilles. Collectively, these works carry the theme 'New York, the City of Opportunity', in which four mental qualities (vision, courage, enlightenment, achievement) and four physical qualities (activity, effort, endurance, success) are central for the individual who strives for growth and the attainment of success.
