Agrippine: * Visual: Agrippina wearing a serpent-like bracelet extending her arm toward a Medusa fresco. * Origin / Edition: Created for the release of Volume 3 (The Best of Mothers), June 2001. * Particularities: Hand-signed by Philippe Delaby. * Condition: excellent. C. Fine ex-libris produced in 1999 by Philippe Delaby in collaboration with Gaby. * Private non-numbered print, typical of late 1990s atelier productions. * Mixed technique (wash / ink / watercolor), hand-signed and dated. Sensual and mythological theme, representative of the pre-Murena period. * Excellent condition: fresh colors, clean paper, blank reverse, crisp corners. * Rare piece, from a print estimated between 30 and 50 copies. D. Murena Art Serigraphy – Poppée (Hors-Commerce): * Visual: The sensuous Poppée kneeling, tidying her hair, wearing a white tunic and gold jewelry. * Technique: High-quality art print (serigraphy) on dark gray art card stock. * Particularities: Extremely rare HC (Hors-Commerce) marked in pencil, reserved for the author and the publisher. * Hand-signed in white pencil by Philippe Delaby. * Condition: Superb, ideal for framing. E. Nero and Acte: * Official ex-libris, limited and numbered 692/1000 (Slumberland BD World, 2025). * Depicts an intimate scene between the young emperor Nero and his mistress Acte. * Beautiful preparatory pencil drawing with construction lines, offering a nice behind-the-scenes look at the comic’s artistic process. F. Poppée, Nero and Balba: * Year: 2009 (Produced for the promotion and release of Volume 7: “Life of Fire”) * Visual / style elements: Stunning collector ex-libris ("Para-BD") with a study-book feel, beautifully showcasing Delaby’s realistic, virtuosic and precise line work. It features three fine sketches of key characters from the second cycle of the series, each hand-labeled by the author: Poppée (foreground left, with court adornments), Nero (the emperor Nero, top right) and Balba (the famous Nubian gladiator, bottom right). Philippe Delaby’s signature integrated into the drawing (bottom left), series logo (meander/fright key) printed on the side margin. * Printing: On heavyweight art paper with a matte textured finish, faithfully reproducing the grain and sepia tone of a charcoal/pencil original. G. The Fire of Rome (Saint-Romain-en-Gal museum) * Visual: A couple (Lucius Murena and Claudia, daughter of Pallas, the imperial freedman; as the series progresses, she becomes Murena’s mistress and great love) embracing amid the smoky ruins of Rome with a fresco of the She-wolf in the background. * Origin / Edition: Prestige institutional print published by Dargaud in June 2013 for the Murena exhibition at the Gallo-Roman Museum of Saint-Romain-en-Gal. One of Delaby’s last living pieces. * Particularities: Extremely restricted, only 300 copies (not sold in regular bookstores). Printed signature. * Condition: Perfect paper condition. H. The Terrace: * Visual: Lucius Murena, Acte and Emperor Nero on a ruined terrace beneath a stormy sky. * Origin / Edition: Published for the release of Volume 4 (Those Who Will Die...), November 2002. End of the first cycle. * Particularities: Very rare print run limited to 199 copies only. Hand-numbered (no. 107 / 199) and authentic signature in pencil by Philippe Delaby. * Condition: Impeccable, perfectly crisp corners, very clean whites. Careful and secure delivery.
