Modern Entourage Ring with Sapphire & Diamonds in White Gold, c. 2000

The entourage ring with sapphire in the middle of a halo of diamonds is a classic in jewelry history. This ring shows why. It has a large sapphire in its center. The color of the stone is particularly beautiful, a bright blue, not at all inky or almost black like many other sapphires. The gemstone is framed by ten brilliant-cut diamonds weighing a total of around two carats. Six more diamonds set the shoulders of the sturdy ring band. A famous example of this is the ring worn by Kate Middleton, Princess of Wales. She wears a very similar piece from the London court jeweler Garrard on her ring finger - a piece of jewelry that was previously worn by Princess Diana.
