France - Antique Mirror Lamp / Wall Lamp (Girandole) - Gilded forged iron & Cut Mirror Glass - ca. 1930. This classic fixture combines functionality with the grandeur of the French Art Deco period and is strongly influenced by the Venetian Baroque style. The fixture has a shield-shaped backplate of thick mirror glass with a facet-cut edge. The mirror is hand-decorated with a refined, etched floral cartouche motif that beautifully reflects the light. The graceful, flowing arms and ornaments are made from patinated/gilded forged iron. At the top there is a classic palmette or acanthus leaf, and the arms meet at the bottom in a stylized floral motif. The candle sockets have an authentic, lived-in appearance. A timeless decorative piece that sits perfectly in both a classic and an Eclectic modern interior, providing warm, atmospheric illumination.
