Mirror- Carved Wood & Curved Iron – Hand Painted - Wood

Large Vintage Florentine-Style Mirror – Carved Wood & Curved Iron – Hand Painted – 96 cm Elegant and highly decorative vintage wall mirror with an oval central plate, surrounded by an elaborate frame combining carved wood and curved iron elements. The structure is particularly refined: the main decorative motifs are hand-carved in wood and inserted within a framework of slender curved iron, creating an airy and sculptural composition. Floral ornaments, scrolling leaves and architectural details develop symmetrically around the mirror, culminating in a richly decorated crest at the top and further ornamental elements at the base. The finish combines antique gold, green-blue and warm reddish tones, with an intentionally aged appearance that gives the piece a strong decorative character and a beautiful sense of depth. Its design recalls the decorative tradition of Italian Florentine and Baroque Revival mirrors, making it ideal for eclectic interiors, maximalist settings, classic décor or as a striking accent piece in a contemporary space. The combination of carved wood and iron gives the frame a lighter and more unusual construction than a fully wooden mirror, while retaining a rich and sophisticated visual presence. Dimensions Total height: approx. 96 cm Width: approx. 58 cm Depth: approx. 5 cm Mirror dimensions: approx. 55 × 42 cm Weight: approx. 3 kg Condition Good vintage condition with visible signs of age and use. The painted and gilded surfaces show natural wear, craquelure, small losses and patina, consistent with the age and decorative character of the piece. The iron elements also show age-related oxidation and surface wear. These signs have been left untouched in order to preserve the original aged appearance and decorative character of the mirror. The mirror plate shows normal age-related signs but remains fully usable. The photographs form an integral part of the description and accurately show the condition, materials and decorative details of the piece.
