全部拍賣 / Lighting / Mid-Century wandlamp – teak/hout & opaalglas –...
Mid-Century wall lamp – teak/wood & opal glass – Scandinavian design – circa 1950–1960 This exceptionally elegant vintage wall lamp is a beautiful example of the organic mid-century design from the 1950s and 1960s. The lamp combines warm-toned wood with a soft white opal glass shade and features a striking, gracefully curved wooden arm. The long wooden arm rises from a formed wall plate and extends upward and forward, after which the lampshade seems to hang freely from the construction. Above the opal glass is a nicely turned, conical wooden finish. It is precisely this combination of wood, simple lines, and diffuse opal glass that is strongly related to Scandinavian lighting from this period. Comparable Danish and Swedish wall lamps from the sixties were made with teak, a curved wooden arm, and white opal glass. The matte opal glass distributes the light evenly and creates a warm, calm atmosphere. Therefore, the lamp is very suitable as mood lighting beside a armchair, sideboard, bed, or in a hallway. Features * Object: wall lamp * Period: circa 1950–1960 * Style: Mid-Century Modern / Scandinavian * Material: wood and opal glass * Curved wooden wall arm * Conical wooden shade cap * White matte opal glass lampshade * Original vintage appearance * White cord and vintage plug * Manufacturer/designer: unknown Condition Good vintage condition with signs of use and aging appropriate to the age. On the opal glass there are superficial scratches and signs of wear, as clearly shown in the detail photo. The wood and the electrical parts may also show light signs of aging. No reason to conceal these marks; they belong to the lamp’s authentic character. Please examine all photos carefully for an accurate impression of the condition. A very decorative wall lamp with a pronounced 50s/60s vibe and a beautiful combination of warm wood and soft opal glass.
