Meissen - Ernst Teichert - Plate (9) - Pottery - Meissen Cologne

Antique Ernst Teichert plates: 5 deep plates, 1 flat plate, and 3 cups with an onion pattern, plates featuring a pike-mark and cups with crossed swords. • Decor: Under-glaze blue flower and fruit motif (Zwiebelmuster), with stylized pomegranates and peaches on the notched/rimmed edge. • Material: White hard paste porcelain with hand-painted cobalt blue details. The Manufacturer: The plates were produced by the porcelain factory Ernst Teichert, located in Cölln, a district of the city of Meissen. The 3 cups bear the blind stamp Cölln-Meissen in combination with this blue arrow/sword variant; this was used in the period from about 1884 to 1914. These cups are therefore authentic antiques and roughly 110 to 120 years old, made just before or around the start of the First World War. This porcelain cup is made in Bavaria, Germany, and features the classic blue-and-white onion pattern (Zwiebelmuster), possibly originating from the manufacturer Oscar Schaller & Co. from the early 20th century (around 1918).
