MASSÉ FRERES - Vase (2) - Earthenware - Massé Frères – Desvres –

Beautiful set of two decorative faiences from Desvres made by Massé Frères, comprising a large lidded urn and a matching vase. The two pieces feature a rich hand-painted polychrome decoration, notably including dragons/fantastic creatures, arabesques, vegetal motifs and geometric friezes, in a particularly decorative palette. Dimensions : Lidded urn: about 32 cm high Vase: about 27 cm high The two pieces bear under their base a handwritten signature “Massé Frères”. The set is particularly interesting for its large dimensions, its very rich decoration and the coherence of the two pieces, which are presented together. Period: second half of the 20th century, Massé Frères period. Origin: Desvres, France. Condition: very good overall. No chips apparent on visual inspection. Given the age of the pieces, slight signs of wear may be present. The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow appreciation of the decorations, signatures and overall condition. #madeinfrance
