A good set. Marcel Proust (1871-1922) began in 1907 one of the masterworks of the twentieth century: the novel cycle In Search of Lost Time, to which he continued writing until his death. Proust was one of those rare writers who resolutely spent the majority of his time on the creation of one great book, which stood before him as his main work and lifelong mission: both in scope and ambition, breadth and depth. In Search of Lost Time can be regarded as one of the most beautiful, most versatile, and most penetrating novels ever written, and perhaps the greatest and most important monument in twentieth‑century literature (source: De Bezige Bij).
