In 1962, he opens the “Studio Malick” in Bamako. The studio portraiture will constitute the major part of his work. People come from everywhere to have their portrait taken by the eye of Bamako… Noticed at the first Rencontres de la Photographie de Bamako, he is exhibited at the Fondation Cartier in Paris, then in the great galleries and museums of the world.
