全部拍賣 / Ethnographic / Magnificent Natural Deep Purple Amethyst Geode Cathedral...
atural deep Purple color — This specimen captures attention with its imposing geode-like structure, commonly known as a “cathedral” for its evocative shape. The interior reveals a cavity richly crusted with amethyst crystals, varying in shades from light lilac to intense, deep purple, characteristic of the finest Brazilian formations. The glassy luster of the individual crystals, well-formed and sharp, creates a sparkling effect that adds depth and a dynamic play of light to the specimen. The outer matrix of the geode is composed of volcanic rock, typically basalt, with a rough, opaque surface that magnificently contrasts with the brilliance and transparency of the amethyst crystals inside. This outer shell not only protects the precious crystal formation but also enhances its natural appearance and geological origin. The cavity edges show thin layers of agate, bearing witness to the slow mineral deposition processes that occurred millions of years ago. Amethyst geodes form inside gas bubbles in lava flows. Over time, silica- and iron-rich fluids penetrate these cavities, slowly depositing layers of quartz and, in the presence of traces of iron and natural irradiation, forming the magnificent violet crystals of amethyst. The intense coloration of this specimen suggests ideal formation conditions, with an optimal concentration of trace elements. This specimen is perfect for enriching a collection of fine minerals, serving as a decorative focal point in an elegant setting, or contributing to a modern Wunderkammer. Its considerable size and vibrant coloration make it a highly impactful object of visual appeal and considerable collectible interest. Conditions: The specimen presents in generally excellent condition. Any small imperfections, color variations, or irregularities on the exterior surface should be considered natural and intrinsic to the geological formation of the piece.
