LUIGI ADEMOLLO (ITALIAN 1764-1849) SIX OLD TESTAMENT SCENES Pen, grey ink and grey wash heightened with white on buff paper 12 x 32cm (4½ x 12½in.) (6) Provenance: Christie's, South Kensington, 5 December 2013, lot 33 Dreweatts, Town and Country: The Collections of Charles Plante and Rawdon Hall, 10 May 2022, lot 62 The group comprises the following subjects: The Israelites Celebrating Their Safe Passage Through The Red Sea; The Meeting of Moses and Aaron in the Desert; Samson and Delilah; The Sacrifice of Noah; The Sacrifice of Isaac; and Lot and His Wife Fleeing Sodom. Condition Report: The works are framed, glazed and mounted and were not examined out of there frames'. The sheets are in generally good condition, they have darkened overall with time, and there are some scattered light foxing. There is some oxidisation of the white pigment, although the drawing still read well. Frames appear to be secure, with nicks, chips, and losses consistence with age and use.
