These masks are important artistic expressions of Luba culture and spirituality. Luba masks are characterized by their figurative aesthetics and distinctive artistic style. They are generally designed to be worn on the face during ceremonies and rituals. These masks depict stylized human figures, with expressive facial features such as eyes, a nose, and a mouth. In addition to their ceremonial role, Luba masks are also admired as autonomous works of art.
