Secretary / Drop-front bar cabinet in Louis XV style in carved oak – 20th century Description : Nice drop-front secretary (or bar cabinet) in Louis XV / Régence style, in solid oak with veneer. This elegant and very practical piece combines the charm of classic cabinetry with functional features. Facade and drop-front : Large drop-front door adorned with a molded panel and a central relief-sculpted motif representing a rocaille shell framed by volutes. The drop-front opens to reveal an interior space equipped with a glass shelf and a mirrored back (ideal for a liqueur bar or a console piece). The open top is held by sturdy metal compasses. There is a pull/ drawer in the lower part with two patinated bronze/brass handles decorated with foliate motifs and shells. Finishes and Pedestal : Sculpted uprights with a cascade of flowers / stylized vegetal motifs at the top. Lower wavy belt ornamented with a large shell carved at the center. Stands on four cabriole legs ending in large claw-and-ball feet. Origin and Period : Period: Second half of the 20th century (c. 1960–1980). Probable origin: France or Belgium (traditionally oak-made in a rustic chic style).
