Lot of (2) Fr. 712. 1918 $1 Federal Reserve Bank Notes. New York. PMG Choice Uncirculated 64 EPQ. Consecutive Serial Numbers. Held together for over a 100 years since they were printed in the late 1910s. This lot of (2) Choice Uncirculated $1 Federal Reserve Bank Notes from the New York district offers bidders an exceptional pairing that offers much in the way of technical distinction and eye appeal. Here one can appreciate crisp blues brought to vigorous form by the Treasury overprint while exceptional detail is brought to life by elements such as the familiar portrait of Washington and the back vignette which echoes George D. Baldwin's iconic vignette entitled Eagle with Flag that found use on contemporary $500 Gold Certificates issued under the Series of 1882. Held together with the grade assigned to both notes by PMG and it takes hardly a second look in order to appreciate the exceptional qualities expressed by the notes included in this impeccable lot. Estimate: $1,250 - $1,750.
