Also, 'The Tree of Life' in a donation sculpture, was erected in front of St Martin's Church (Birmingham) in 2005 to commemorate those who died in the city's bombing during World War II. The contemporary Italian artist Lorenzo Quinn is a world-renowned sculptor, particularly known for his skilled use of hands to convey authentic emotions and abstract concepts such as love and faith. Quinn's sculptures have been prominently placed in cities around the world, including major corporate and philanthropic commissions for leading organizations. Quinn draws inspiration from masters such as Michelangelo, Bernini and Rodin. Working from his studio and foundry near Barcelona, he uses traditional lost-wax casting techniques to create his sculptures. Internationally exhibited, both Quinn's monumental public art and his smaller, more intimate pieces convey his passion for capturing eternal values and authentic emotions in his work. As you may know, the artist attached a text to each of his sculptures: “The tree of life is like our family tree; we will reap what we have sown. The tree needs sustenance and guidance so that it can grow strong and healthy and can provide shade to all those who come to rest beneath its majestic branches. The tree of life is what keeps the world breathing; it envelops it with its gentle breath and protects it so that future generations may also enjoy it.” Prepared on the back for wall hanging.
