This painting shows a natural landscape dominated by abundant vegetation and a succession of tall trees that rise along the entire scene. Their trunks, some narrow and others wider, appear in dark greens, browns, reddish tones and blacks, cut against a luminous background. Among them, a lighter vegetation area opens up, bathed in pale green and yellowish hues, seemingly guiding the gaze toward the horizon. The composition conveys the impression of being before a lush forest or a grove viewed from an open space. At the bottom, the ground is organized into irregular bands of greens, ochres, whites and muted reds. Some of these shapes suggest grasses, leaves and small patches of earth, while others create a kind of path or clearing that advances through the vegetation. The horizontal and curved lines in the foreground provide movement and lead the eye across the surface before turning toward the trunks and the background. Color and directional changes evoke natural, uneven, and lively terrain, where each zone seems to receive light in a different way. The trees are distributed variably, not forming a uniform line. At the edges and at several points in the center, darker trunks appear, acting as depth elements and framing the light areas behind them. The canopies and branches blend with the background vegetation, creating green masses of varying intensities. Some touches of yellow and orange stand out among the leaves and interrupt the continuity of the greens, like small flashes of light filtering through the branches. This combination of vertical shapes and color patches gives the landscape a sense of density, yet also leaves spaces for the eye to travel. In the distance, a line of hills or gentle elevations is visible, drawn in dark and green tones, separating the vegetation from the sky. Above it, the sky extends in a band of warm colors, with oranges, yellows and ochres that recall the light of sunset. This glow contrasts with the intense greens of the trees and seems to illuminate the landscape from behind, creating an enveloping and somewhat mysterious atmosphere. Depth is suggested by overlapping planes: the near ground, the clearing trees, the horizon shapes, and finally the bright sky. Overall, the painting presents an exuberant grove where the warm horizon light blends with the freshness of greens and the richness of earthy tones. The alternation between dark trunks, light vegetation, and areas of more intense color creates a dynamic scene, full of depth and nuance. The landscape is not shown as a rigid or completely defined place, but as a natural environment that invites you to pause and observe its forms, contrasts, and changes in light. The overall feeling is that of a quiet, lush corner where nature occupies all space and preserves an evocative air.
