Lima vulgaris (85mm) - Giant File Clam - Complete Matched...

The Sculpting of the Ocean – A Snow-White Natural Wonder Expand your collection with a spectacular masterwork of marine evolution: For sale is a perfectly flawless, natural pair of valves of Lima vulgaris (Giant File Shell) in museum GEM quality. With an impressive length of 85 mm, this specimen breaks the typical size boundaries of its species and represents a rare GIANT SIZE. The absolute highlight of this offer is the symmetry: the two halves naturally belong together (Complete Matched Pair) and close perfectly. A fragile masterpiece from the coral reefs The genus Lima is renowned for its fine, sculptured shell architecture. The surface is studded with countless, ultra-thin radial ribs and tiny calcified scales that give the shell its characteristic rough file-like texture. As these delicate ribs are almost always rubbed or knocked off in rough reef environments or during collection, an inseparable pair in this perfectly undamaged condition is a small miracle. The shell gleams in an elegant, pure natural white and is a refined focal point in the “Cabinet of Curiosities” style or for any high-end display case.
