Lídia Vives - Morphology of Forgetting — Edición 1/3

Morphology of Forgetting explores the fragile relationship between memory and oblivion through an image of silent, symbolic atmosphere that is deeply pictorial. The female figure, with a gaze between distance and melancholy, appears surrounded by poppies, flowers traditionally linked to dream, forgetfulness, and the threshold between life and death. The work addresses how memories stay with us: not always as sharp images, but as latent presences that resurface unexpectedly. Inspired by Flemish iconography and painting tradition, the photograph builds a suspended, almost ritual scene. The wardrobe, lighting, and composition reference classical painting, reinterpreted from a contemporary photographic perspective in which the symbol takes center stage. More than depicting a concrete story, the work suggests an emotional state. Memory appears here not as an archive but as an inner landscape: a territory where what we believed forgotten continues to bloom, even if only in the shadows. Limited edition: 1/3 Photograph dimensions: 100 × 67 cm Dimensions with frame: 123 x 91.5 x 3 cm The work is delivered framed, with a mat and museum glass, ready for exhibition. A large-format piece from a specially reduced edition. SPECIFICATIONS OF THE WORK Work with frame and museum glass. The frame can be replaced without issue and so can the glass. Technique and paper: Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art Baryta paper with an extra-brilliant finish. Delivered signed and numbered, as well as with an authenticity certificate. Shipped insured and professionally packaged to protect the work during transport. Includes cotton gloves for handling the work and a signed postcard with a personal note from the author. This work has been exhibited in Vienna, so on the back there are the marks of the hooks used to hang it and there is a small dent in a part of the frame as can be seen in one of the detail images. Nevertheless, the work is in perfect condition. The value of the work takes into account the value of the frame and the glass.
