Kunzite and Tourmaline Ring

ESTIMATED RETAIL PRICE: $1,900* *This is the estimated value a piece of similar quality, craftsmanship, and characteristics could command at retail. A pear-shaped kunzite of approximately 2.50 carats anchors this ring, flanked by trillion-cut pink tourmaline. Kunzite is pleochroic — it shows different intensities of its lilac-pink depending on the viewing axis — so a cutter has to orient the stone deliberately, and the pear outline here is doing exactly that. Pairing it with a warmer, more saturated tourmaline gives the pale center something to read against.
