Konrad Kurz (1934–2023) - Figurengruppe

Konrad Kurz (1934–2023) - Figurengruppe

For sale: a signed bronze sculpture by artist Konrad Kurz (1934–2023) featuring two highly stylized figures on a common plinth. The composition is sculptural and abstracted, with a dark brown patina appropriate to age, including some greenish patinated areas. Inside the hollow plinth lies the incised signature “K. Kurz München.” Additionally, there is a monogram on the outside of the plinth. The sculpture weighs approximately 1,540.5 g. The piece is in good, age-appropriate condition with natural patina and typical light surface traces. It has not been refurbished or polished by me. The numerous photos show the sculpture, the signature, the monogram, and the condition in detail and form part of the description. Exceptional bronze sculpture – Konrad Kurz, Munich Expressive signed sculpture – modern figurative representation – impressive patina For sale is a striking bronze sculpture by the Munich sculptor Konrad Kurz (1934–2023). The sculpture impresses with its powerful, reduced formal language and Kurz’s characteristic combination of figurative representation and abstraction. The two, sculpturally emphasized figures stand in a tense relationship to the massive, architecturally–inspired base. It is precisely this clear, modern design that gives the work a remarkable presence. The bronze has a very beautiful, lively surface with patina appropriate to its age. Due to its compact form, it presents excellently as a solitary piece on a sideboard, desk, pedestal, or in a private art collection. Artist: Konrad Kurz (1934–2023) Origin: Munich Material: Bronze Edition: plastic bronze sculpture Signature: present on the object Condition: age-appropriate, with age- and material-typical traces/patina Included: the sculpture shown About the artist Konrad Kurz belongs to Munich’s sculptor scene of the 20th and early 21st centuries. His artistic work predominantly includes plastic bronze pieces, often with a deliberately reduced and abstracted formal language. His works are in private collections as well as public spaces and are regularly offered in art and auction markets. An interesting collector’s piece This work is aimed at lovers of modern German sculpture, and especially collectors who wish to discover, in addition to well-known names, high-quality pieces from the Munich school of sculpture. The numerous detailed photographs allow a precise assessment of execution, surface, patina, and condition. A characterful bronze ideal for collectors of modern German sculpture. Expressive signed sculpture – modern figurative representation – impressive patina For sale is an unusually designed, expressive sculpture with two abstracted human forms on a massive, organically shaped base. The larger figure, in its reduced, elongated form, evokes a stylized female form. Next to it is a smaller, ring-formed abstracted figure. The entire composition thrives on its deliberately irregular, hand-crafted surfaces, sculptural structures, and the dark, characterful patina. The sculpture has a very independent, sculptural language and works well as a collector’s piece as well as a representative artwork for a discerning interior. Details: * expressive abstract-figurative design * two stylized figures on a solid base * striking, hand-crafted surface texture * dark, metallic-looking patina * signed on the bottom * signature documented in the photos * interesting for collectors and as décor * sale as shown Viewings possible by appointment. An exceptional individual piece with an interesting signature and a very characterful, modern formal language. Konrad Kurz (1934–2023) – German sculptor of post-war modernism Konrad Kurz is among the prominent German sculptors of the latter half of the 20th century. The Passau-born artist developed a distinctive, unmistakable formal language between figurative representation, abstraction, and archaic-looking modernity. After his training and studies in sculpture in Munich, Kurz dedicated his life to art. Since the 1970s, his works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions. In addition to exhibitions in Germany, his work has also been represented internationally. Works by him can also be found in public spaces. Particularly characteristic are his bronze sculptures, in which Kurz depicts human figures, relationships, and emotional states in a reduced yet highly expressive manner. His sculptures often exert a powerful, almost archaic effect and are unmistakable due to their craft-oriented surface and individual patination. The works of Konrad Kurz are today verifiable in the art and auction trade and are valued by collectors especially for their autonomous formal language and the distinctive bronze execution. This piece bears the characteristic signature “K. Kurz – München” and stylistically convincingly fits into the sculptural oeuvre of the artist. An expressive work of German post-war modernism with notable sculptural presence. Have fun bidding Best regards Daniel, Westeralbersloh
