Knife rest (10) - Silverplated - Silvered metal foxes.

An exceptional opportunity to bring a touch of poetry, originality and elegance to your reception tables or festive meals! Magnificent matching set of 10 antique silvered metal knife rests, sculpted with remarkable finesse in the shape of foxes at rest. Each piece perfectly captures the animal's appearance with its front paws extended, its finely relief-engraved fur catching the light subtly, and its long graceful tail raised, offering a base with perfect stability to cradle your cutlery. The history of figurative metal art knife rests dates back to the 19th century in Europe, before enjoying immense popular success in the mid-20th century thanks to the creations of renowned silversmiths such as Christofle or Sandoz. Originally designed to protect precious tablecloths from cooking juices, these utilitarian accessories quickly became true little table jewelry and symbols of the French art de vivre. This model, highlighting forest fauna, fully sits in the wake of classical animal art and harmonizes wonderfully with the Cottage decorative trend, the country house style, or a rustic chic Christmas ambiance. Placed next to each plate, they are sure to charm your guests and bring a memorable touch of character to your receptions. In very good vintage condition, not new! Beautiful patina that gives them all their charm! Dimensions : Length 7 cm Height 2 cm
