Kiri Aguilera (1982) - XL - Ecos de la Selva

Kiri Aguilera (1982) is an artist of Cuban origin, currently residing in Spain, whose work is distinguished by a sophisticated visual language where contemporary abstraction, poetic figurativeness, and gestural expressiveness converge. Trained in professional art schools, her trajectory reveals a solid academic foundation that manifests in command of drawing, composition, and the spatial construction of the canvas. On this technical structure, the artist has developed a distinctive, highly recognizable style, in which the line takes a leading role as a rhythm, tension, and visual narrative element. Her acrylic-on-canvas production, entirely handmade, stands out for its vibrant chromatic richness and the presence of carefully balanced painted layers. Color, far from being merely ornamental, acts as an emotional vehicle that transforms each work into a sensory, highly impactful experience. Within her thematic universe, the female figures, floral compositions, and stylized representation of animals stand out, elements that the artist reinterprets through a language that oscillates between abstract synthesis and suggested figuration. Her large-format works — typically over 100 cm — are designed for spaces with strong aesthetic presence, creating a direct relationship with interior architecture and becoming genuine focal points within the environment. The delicacy of the stroke, the elegance of the lines, and the intensity of the color give each piece a contemporary, highly decorative visual identity, without losing conceptual depth or artistic value. Kiri Aguilera’s work is especially attractive to collectors and lovers of contemporary art who seek original pieces with strong visual presence, impeccable technique, and distinctive aesthetics. Each canvas conveys refined sensitivity, where gestural energy coexists with compositional harmony, producing works of great sophistication, ideal for private collections as well as for curatorial spaces and high-end interior design projects. This dazzling work executed in acrylic on canvas delves into contemporary figurative neocubism, standing out for its complex geometric decomposition, firm contours, and a kaleidoscopic color palette where warm yellow, vibrant blue, foliar green, magenta, and red and orange accents converge. The piece centers on a portrait of a woman in a reflective and serene attitude, symmetrically guarded by two colorful macaws whose plumage integrates harmoniously into the abstract stained-glass environment and stylized botanical motifs. Through this dialogue between the human figure, exotic fauna, and fragmented flora, the artist seeks to convey the deep interconnectedness of the human psyche with nature’s exuberance, projecting an air of mystery, timeless elegance, and tropical vitality in a vibrant game of visual balance.
