Jérôme Natalis & L'Abbé Brispot - La vie de N.S

Exciting illustrated edition with 130 steel engravings printed on China paper from this two-volume set, which thus seeks to bring closer the Gospel texts that often recount the same events from different angles - Jérôme Natalis's approach sits within a long Christian tradition of the evangelical concordance, which consists of relating the testimony of the four evangelists in order to highlight their complementarity rather than their differences in structure, vocabulary or perspective - The two volumes give important prominence to the main episodes of Jesus's childhood and youth, notably the Annunciation, the Nativity, the adoration of the shepherds and the Magi, the presentation at the Temple, the flight into Egypt, the sojourn of the Holy Family and the episode of Jesus found among the doctors - Jérôme Natalis & L'Abbé Brispot - The Life of Our Lord Jesus Christ Written by the Four Evangelists - 1853 - Vols I and II - Abel Pilon - 160; 111 Pages. Good condition of bindings, volumes in their full black card binding with blind decoration on the covers, wear from use, some minor defects on the covers, corners worn, gilded edges, spines with raised bands, gilded titles and volume numbers, decorative firming in blind on the covers with a blind cross at the center - Good interior condition, some stains, volumes enriched with 130 steel engravings printed on China paper, moiré endpapers, text framed in two columns, endpapers in good condition, a pleasant set - Delivery service ensured within a few days -
