Jerome Mesnager (1961) - Le quai des brumes

Original work by the artist Jérôme Mesnager on a genuine cinema poster for the film "Le Quai des Brumes". In a black frame 40x30 cm. Framed size 31x24 cm. Jérôme Mesnager entered the Boulle School in 1974 where he trained as a cabinetmaker and where he would later teach. In 1979, he took Yves Got and Georges Pichard's comics courses, professors at the École supérieure des arts appliqués Duperré. He is one of the founders, in 1982, of Zig-Zag, a group of around ten very young artists who decide to occupy the street by drawing graffiti and, also, briefly occupy, for the duration of an artistic performance, derelict factories. On January 16, 1983, he invents the White Man, “a symbol of light, strength, and peace.” This white silhouette, Jérôme Mesnager has reproduced around the world, from the walls of Paris to the Great Wall of China. In 1990, Jérôme Mesnager left his childhood home, the place of his meetings with Jean-Pierre Le Boul’ch, the headquarters of his associations, the studio of his early works, to move to the 20th arrondissement of Paris. He will exhibit a series of hoardings on the theme of battles at the Loft gallery, which published a catalog. In 1995, he created a large mural on rue de Ménilmontant, in the 20th, “We are the guys from Ménilmontant.” Jérôme Mesnager often partners with Némo, whose signature character is the black silhouette of a man in a trench coat wearing a hat. In this regard, he has accompanied the Parisian urban art movement (Blek le rat, Miss.Tic, Jef Aérosol, Némo, etc.) and the Figuration Libre in the early 1980s. In this regard, he has accompanied the Parisian urban art movement (Blek le Rat, Miss.Tic, Jef Aérosol, Némo, etc.) and the Figuration Libre at the beginning of the 1980s. In 2006, Jérôme creates a series of canvases inspired by the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. In the same year, he tackles the Hôtel des Académies et des Arts in Paris and fills the space with his White Bodies.
