Jan Both (1618-1652), Circle of - Paesaggio con figure

This is an Flemish school landscape oil on panel from the XVII century, restored and backed with backing board. It is a very interesting landscape from the Dutch school that depicts a German landscape with a style typical of Italianizing landscape painters of the XVII century, and which particularly looks to Claude Lorrain (1600-1682) and Jan Both (1618-1652). The author is an artist from the circle of Jan Both (1615-1652). In fact this painting presents many features similar to the paintings of the Flemish author. The composition is similar to the “Landscape with Figures” in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. In both paintings the tree trunks are rendered with attention to detail. Even in the painting for sale there is light rendered perfectly, as is always the case in Jan Both’s works, who drew inspiration from Lorrain.
