全部拍賣 / Ethnographic / Jade - Silver Jadeite Threader Earrings – Jadeite Donut...
An elegant pair of threader earrings in S925 sterling silver, each set with two pieces of natural jadeite jade: a barrel bead and a donut drop. Each of the four jadeite components has its own NGTC certificate confirming it as Type A jadeite, meaning untreated: no bleaching, no polymer impregnation and no dyeing. The donut drops are the classic 平安扣 (ping'an kou, "peace buckle"), one of the most beloved forms in Chinese jade. Its smooth, unbroken circle has long been worn as a symbol of peace, safety and protection. The donuts here are generously sized and softly rounded, in a cool light green and white jadeite with natural patches of deeper green drifting through the stone. No two are quite alike, which gives each earring its own character. Above each donut sits a neat barrel bead, one in white jadeite and the other in light green and white. Together they add a subtle play of tone between the two earrings. The earrings are worn as threaders. A fine silver box chain passes through the ear, with a slim silver bar at one end, while the barrel bead and donut hang below. This lets the wearer adjust how long the earrings hang, from a close drop to a longer, fluid line. At their longest they measure 63.3 mm. Modern in silhouette yet rooted in tradition, these earrings are easy to wear every day and make a meaningful gift.
