Italy - Ischia; Iulius Iacobinus - Ischia quae olim Aenaria - 1921-1950

Print reproducing: "Ischia quae olim Aenaria" by Abraham Ortelius This refined print is an art reproduction of one of the most famous maps dedicated to the island of Ischia, originally conceived by Abraham Ortelius (1527–1598). Ortelius, a Flemish geographer and cartographer, is universally recognized as the father of modern cartography. The original work dates back to the late 16th century and represents a valuable historical document that blends geographical precision with Renaissance artistic mastery. The map describes with meticulous detail the island of Ischia, historically called Aenaria, together with the nearby island of Procida and a portion of the Phlegraean coast. The drawing is enriched with elegant decorative elements typical of the era. The print is presented within a modern dark wooden frame with clean and elegant lines, finished with a thin inner gold profile that illuminates the entire composition. A wide light mat surrounds the map, visually protecting it and directing the eye to the finer details of the cartography, making this piece an ideal decorative element for studies, libraries, or settings with a classical and refined style.
