The substantial raised bezel is surrounded by finely engraved vegetal and scrolling ornament, while similar decorative motifs continue along the shoulders and hoop, reflecting the rich ornamental vocabulary of later Ottoman jewellery. The translucent green glass provides a striking contrast with the aged silver mount, which preserves extensive surface wear, oxidation and deposits consistent with prolonged use and considerable age.
