全部拍賣 / Books, Maps & Manuscripts / Ioanne Ciampino - Conjecturae de perpetuo azymorum usu in Ecclesia Latina
Rarest edition in its magnificent armorial red morocco binding of this work on historical and liturgical theology devoted to a particularly ancient question of Western Christian tradition, that of the permanent use of unleavened bread in the Latin Church, or at least in the Roman Church - The title, which can be translated as “Conjectures on the Perpetual Use of the Azyme in the Latin Church, or at least the Roman,” announces a scholarly inquiry into the origins, continuity, and justification of this liturgical practice, seeking to determine to what extent the use of unleavened bread can be regarded as a constant tradition of Western Christianity - The subject sits within the theological controversies that long opposed the Latin and Greek traditions on the eucharistic matter, notably in the context of liturgical divergences between the Church of Rome and the Eastern Churches - Ioanne Ciampino - Conjecturae de perpetuo azymorum usu in Ecclesia Latina, vel saltem Romana - 1688 - Ioannis Iacobi Komarek - Good condition of the binding, the work in its full old armorial red morocco binding, stains and wear from use, some minor defects on boards and spine, spine cracked, boards worn, headcaps and corners worn, rubbing along the edges, speckled edges, spine with raised bands ornamented, gilt fillets on the boards, arms gilt at the center of the boards - Good interior condition, some stains, title page printed in red and black and adorned with a small vignette, pretty headbands, beautiful initial, seal of the Congregation for the Oriental Church, ex-libris, marbled endpapers in good condition, good copy - Delivery service available within a few days -
