A forged-steel executioner's kris bearing a blade that is much longer and much straighter than typical kris examples. The long thin blade was designed to be thrust through the collarbone of the intended victim and ultimately piercing the heart. This motion was also used by Roman gladiators as the coup de gras with the fallen (but not yet dead) contestant in the arena. What sets this example off is the adornments of high-karat gold on the blade flange and white sapphires on the base of the grip. Additionally, the handle has a lovely abstract Garuda.
