INDIA Dhodro banam (sarangi), carved from wood, with a rectangular soundbox covered in leather and topped by a shield-shaped soundboard; the neck is crowned by a frame adorned with a frieze of five standing women. The sides are carved with rosettes within medallions. (Restored with metal staples). H. 84 cm. Base.
