First Edition. 1725 This fundamental popular learned work on the trees and herbs of the Bible with lexical studies of various Greek, Hebrew, and Syriac words of Matthias Hiller (1646 – 1725). The book is divided into two parts, The work is divided into two parts: the first treats trees (Prior de Arboribus) and the second medicinal herbs and plants (Posterior de Herbis) to which is added a Preface by Salomon Pfister, Professor at Bebenhausen, containing the life, merits, and works. Matthias Hiller was born at Stuttgart in 1646, the son of a Wurttemberg government secretary. He was a German Protestant theologian and Orientalist, became professor of logic and metaphysics at Stuttgart.,In 1716 he exchanged these offices for the priory of Konigsbronn, where he acquired a great reputation by his works on philology and hermeneutics. He died in Konigsbronn on 11 February 1725. This work was his final publication.
