High Quality Vintage Sapphire & Diamond Ring in White Gold, c. 1950s

This hand-forged ring features the classic combination of individually cut diamonds of very good colour quality with a natural and untreated sapphire weighing approximately 8.00 carats. Sapphires with expressive colour without artificial after-treatment have become so rare that they are counted among the most sought-after gems of all at the gemstone fairs of this world. Stones such as this unheated sapphire are sought-after jewels, because most sapphires that come onto the market today are either heated to improve their colour, filled with lead glass to conceal cracks, or irradiated to intensify their colour. The ring from the 1950s has a total of 32 small diamonds with a total weight of about 0.66 carats around its wonderful sapphire. While the sapphire rests centrally and slightly elevated in a simple bezel setting, the diamonds are set in a delicate gallery that almost appears to be made of lace. A workshop mark inside the ring band reveals that it was made in a German goldsmith's workshop. The ring band and settings are forged from 18-karat white gold, and together with the fine trim, they exhibit a great level of luxury: Exquisite materials, beautiful design and the best craftsmanship result in a magnificent piece of jewellery with a certain timelessness. To ensure that the gemstone in our ring is an untreated sapphire, we have commissioned a certificate from the German Association for Gemstone Evaluation in Idar-Oberstein; it is supplied with the ring.
